Collation
Collation
Collation means to collect or gather together and is a term used to indicate how printed content should be ordered.
When printing more than one document you will usually want to print your documents to be collated, this means each document is printed in page order so you will end up with separate documents in a pile. If you select uncollated all the first pages of your document will be printed together, followed by the second pages, followed by the third pages etc.
The below illustrates how this would work for an example order of 3 copies of a 4 page document:
· Collated: 1,2,3 - 1,2,3 - 1,2,3
· Uncollated: 1,1,1 - 2,2,2 - 3,3,3
